Tesla referral code in United States 🇺🇸

In the United States a referral code adds three months of free Full Self-Driving (Supervised) to a new Model 3, Model Y or eligible Cybertruck — worth about $297 at Tesla's $99/month rate. This replaced the old cash discount in the March 2026 program update.

Local incentives you can stack in United States

The referral reward is separate from government EV incentives, so where you qualify these stack on top. This is the depth other referral sites skip — verify each against the official source for your situation.

Federal clean-vehicle credit — ended 30 September 2025

This no longer exists for a new purchase. The federal new clean vehicle credit (Section 30D, up to $7,500) and the used-EV credit (Section 25E, up to $4,000) both expired for vehicles acquired after 30 September 2025 under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act — a hard end date, not a phase-down. Buyers who entered a binding contract and made a payment before that date could still claim it when the vehicle was placed in service. If you are budgeting a 2026 Tesla, assume $0 federally and build your numbers from state, municipal and utility programs instead.

State & utility EV incentives

Many states (e.g. Colorado, California) and local utilities add rebates, HOV access or charging credits on top of the federal credit. These vary widely — check your state energy office and utility.

How to apply it at checkout in United States

  1. Open the referral link first — it sends you to Tesla's United States store with the benefit attached. Tesla can't add a referral after you order.
  2. Configure your Model 3 or Model Y (or eligible Cybertruck) in USD.
  3. Confirm the reward — 3 months free fsd (supervised) — appears in the order summary before you place the order.

United States Tesla referral code FAQ

Is the US referral benefit really free FSD and not a discount?

Yes. Since the March 2026 update the US buyer reward is three months of free FSD (Supervised) — the upfront cash discount was retired. The trial activates automatically at delivery.

Can I still stack the referral with the $7,500 federal credit?

No — not because they conflict, but because the federal credit is gone. Section 30D expired for vehicles acquired after 30 September 2025, so a 2026 purchase gets nothing federally. The referral FSD trial is unaffected and still applies. What remains alongside it is state, municipal and utility programs, which vary by address and are now the largest lever for most US buyers.
