The one rule that matters: click first
The benefit is attached when you click the referral link before configuring. Tesla cannot add a referral after an order (Reservation Number) exists — not online, not by phone, not in a store. If you take one thing from this page: open the link, then build your car.

Exactly how to apply it
- Open the referral link first. Click the referral link before you configure anything. It loads Tesla's official store and attaches the code to your session — this is the step people skip, and it's why they lose the benefit.
- Design your Tesla. Choose your Model 3, Model Y or eligible Cybertruck, with paint, wheels and options as normal, on Tesla's own site.
- Check the Referral Code field at checkout. On the order/payment step, confirm the referral code is shown (or paste it into the Referral Code field). One referral per order; a vehicle order and a solar order are separate.
- Confirm the benefit before you pay. Make sure your market's reward — the FSD trial, free Supercharging or the discount — appears in the order summary before you place the order. Tesla can't add a referral once an order number exists.
