Ireland was not among the five European countries that had approved FSD (Supervised) at our 1 September 2026 review (see the five approvals), and the Irish referral reward is Supercharging distance, not an FSD trial.
Availability: Model 3 and Model Y are sold in Ireland in right-hand drive; the Cybertruck is not on the Irish site.

SEAI grant for a new battery-electric car
SEAI pays a grant of up to €3,500 on an eligible new battery-electric car. It is claimed through the dealer (for Tesla, through the order) rather than by you afterwards. Many Irish list prices are quoted with the grant already deducted, so check whether your order summary shows the grant as its own line. Motoring press reported in July 2026 that the eligible price ceiling would drop from €60,000 to €50,000 for applications received after 31 July 2026. Check SEAI's current terms against the exact price of the car you configure.

VRT relief extended to 31 December 2028
Vehicle registration tax relief on electric cars was due to end with 2026. Budget 2027, presented on 6 October 2026, extended it to 31 December 2028. A Tesla delivered in January 2027 is not penalised on VRT, so there is no reason to force a December registration for VRT alone. The relief is banded on the car's open market selling price, which Revenue sets, not on the price in your Tesla order.
ICE2EV scrappage payment (budget-limited)
From 1 July 2026 a separate €5,000 ICE2EV payment was offered to private buyers who scrap a petrol or diesel car registered in 2013 or earlier and buy a new battery-electric car. It came on top of the SEAI grant, from a fixed €10 million budget split between rural and urban applicants. The money was committed within hours of opening on 1 July 2026, the scheme closed that day, and SEAI says it will be reviewed. Treat it as unavailable unless SEAI shows it open on the day you order.

What is different about Ireland
- Kilometres, not the UK's miles. The UK referral is 650 miles of free Supercharging (UK page checked 4 October 2026, see the UK page). Ireland's is 1,000 km. They are different countries with different terms, not one figure in two units.
- Northern Ireland orders from the UK. A buyer in Belfast or Derry is in the UK and orders from Tesla's UK site, in pounds. A buyer in Dundalk or Letterkenny orders from the Irish site. The link has to match the country where the car is registered.
- Irish terms, Irish dates. Tesla's Irish Refer and Earn terms are marked "Effective October 30, 2024. Updated June 4, 2025". They cap an owner at 10 referral orders per calendar year, and the order has to be placed through the owner's referral link.
- Your Supercharging allowance has an expiry date. The referral distance is credited after delivery and expires if unused. Check the expiry shown in the Tesla app under Charging. It's a separate balance from any Tesla Credits in the Wallet.
- The "2,000 km" reports. Some April 2026 coverage described a doubled European reward of about 2,000 km (our write-up). Tesla's Irish page checked on 12 July 2026 printed 1,000 km. Go by the line in your own order summary.
How to apply it at checkout in Ireland
- Open the referral link first — it sends you to Tesla's Ireland site with the benefit attached. Tesla can't add a referral after you order.
- Configure your Model 3 or Model Y in EUR.
- Confirm the reward — 1,000 km free Supercharging — appears in the order summary before you place the order.
