Tesla referral code FAQ
Everything buyers ask before ordering, answered honestly and dated. Country-specific questions live on each country page.
Is a Tesla referral code free?
Yes — always free, no account or sign-up, and it never changes the car's price. It adds your market's reward on top at checkout.
What's the benefit in my country?
US/Canada: 3 months free FSD (Supervised). UK: ≈ 650 free Supercharging miles. France: 1,000 km free Supercharge. Germany/Spain/Netherlands: free Supercharging credit. Australia: a cash-style discount. See your country page for the exact figure and value.
Why isn't the benefit free FSD everywhere?
Because FSD (Supervised) isn't road-legal outside North America yet. Where it isn't approved, Tesla gives free Supercharging (UK/EU) or a discount (Australia) instead. Any site quoting 'free FSD' to UK/EU buyers is simply wrong.
Where exactly do I enter the code?
The safest route is to click the referral link first — it opens Tesla's store with the code attached. If configuring manually, paste it into the Referral Code field on the order/payment step, and confirm the reward shows before you pay.
Can I add a code after ordering?
No. Tesla cannot attach a referral once a Reservation Number exists — online, by phone or in a store. Click first, always.
Is there a code that gives a bigger reward?
No. Every valid code applies the identical reward for your market. Use one that's verified and current, like the one on this site.
Do Model S and Model X qualify?
No — both were removed from the referral program in March 2026, worldwide. Only Model 3, Model Y and eligible Cybertruck configurations qualify.
Does the referral stack with EV incentives?
Yes. The referral reward is separate from government tax credits, grants and company-car tax rules, so where you qualify they stack. Details are on each country page.
What does the referrer get?
$250 in Tesla Credits (local equivalent) per successful referral, capped at 10 per calendar year. It costs you nothing and doesn't change your benefit.
How do you keep this current?
We re-check Tesla's program and the per-country benefit and stamp the date; the code resolves to a live owner link. This page was verified July 13, 2026. Because Tesla changes terms often, always confirm at checkout.
What if my country isn't covered here?
Then treat the regional pattern as a starting hypothesis and verify it on your own order, because that is the only source that is definitive for you. The pattern across markets we do track is consistent: where FSD (Supervised) is approved for public use, the buyer benefit tends to be a software trial; where it isn't, Tesla substitutes something it can deliver anywhere, which is charging credit. Australia has historically been the outlier, with cash-style framing and figures that have moved more than anywhere else.
What we won't do is invent a figure for a market we haven't checked. A page that confidently lists every country on earth is either reproducing one region's terms everywhere or guessing — and both produce exactly the error this site exists to avoid. Open a referral link, configure, and read the order summary before paying: that tells you your market's answer in about two minutes, which is faster than waiting for us.
Why do your figures differ from other referral sites?
Usually because of dates rather than disagreement. This programme changed at least twice in 2026 — the reward shape shifted in North America, Model S and Model X left the eligible list, and the European figure was reported as doubling at the end of April. A page written in early 2026 and never revisited will contradict a page checked last week, and neither author necessarily did anything wrong.
So compare methods, not numbers. Does the page carry a verification date? Does it name its market, or quote one figure for the whole world? Does it distinguish what the buyer gets from what the referrer gets — they're different, and conflating them is the most common error in this niche. Where we cannot confirm something at primary source, we say so instead of picking the most attractive of the available claims, which is why some answers here are less tidy than elsewhere.
Can the benefit change between when I read this and when I order?
Yes, and it has. That isn't a hedge — it's the single most useful thing to understand about referral pages generally, including this one. Tesla adjusts this programme without notice: amounts move, eligible models change, and the form of the reward can switch from charging credit to a software trial or back.
Which is why every page here is dated and why we point you at the same final check regardless of what we say: the referral line in your own order summary, before payment. If our figure and your order summary disagree, your order summary is right and we're out of date — tell us and we'll fix it. There is no version of this where a comparison page beats the screen you're looking at.
The code is in the toolbar above (tap Copy). This referral link opens Tesla's official store with the benefit attached — always confirm it shows in your order summary before you pay. We may earn Tesla Credits; it costs you nothing.
