Why the reward differs — grouped by mechanic

Every market falls into exactly one of three groups below, and which group depends on one thing: whether Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is an approved, road-legal referral reward there yet.

How to read this table without being misled

Three of the columns above decay at completely different speeds, and treating them as equally reliable is the single easiest way to get burned by a page like this one — ours included.

• The reward column changes without notice and without announcement. Tesla adjusts programme terms per market, and the change appears on the local support page and in order summaries before it appears in any reporting. Treat every cell here as "true when checked", never as "true".
• The illustrative value column is arithmetic on top of an assumption — a subscription price, a charging tariff, an exchange rate. It moves whenever any of those move, which is continuously. It exists to give the reward a rough order of magnitude, not to be quoted.
• The stackable-incentive column runs on government calendars, which is the slowest of the three but changes in the largest steps: a scheme does not drift, it opens or closes on a date. That is why the entries there name a status and not just a programme.

Why a bigger number in another currency is not a better deal

Laid out side by side, these rewards invite a comparison they cannot actually support. A reward denominated in Supercharging kilometres is worth whatever those kilometres cost in that market, and charging tariffs differ across these eight countries by more than the rewards themselves do. The same is true of the FSD trial: three months of a subscription is worth three of that market's monthly prices, which are set locally.

So the honest way to use the value column is within a row, not across rows. Comparing the UK's Supercharging miles to Australia's cash-style discount tells you the two programmes are structured differently — which is real, and it is the point of the grouping below — but it does not tell you that a buyer in one country is better off than a buyer in the other. Nobody is choosing which country to buy a car in on the strength of a referral perk, and a page that implies otherwise is comparing for the sake of having a comparison.
