People search for both a "code" and a "link" and assume they're different rewards. They're the same thing, wrapped two ways. Here's the clean explanation nobody else bothers to write.

The code

A referral code is a short string tied to a Tesla owner's account (something like steven787345). You can type or paste it into the Referral Code field at checkout.

The link

A referral link is that same code wrapped in a ts.la/… URL. Clicking it opens Tesla's store and pre-applies the code — no typing, no typos. That's why we default to the link everywhere on this site.

Which should you use?

Use the link if you have it: it's the lower-risk path and the benefit is identical. Keep the raw code handy as a backup in case you configure on a different device. Either way, the reward — and its value in your country — is exactly the same.
