Confirming at order is necessary, not sufficient

The checkout walkthrough on this site ends at one checkpoint: seeing the reward line in your order summary before you pay. That step matters — it's your last chance to catch a missing code — but seeing the line doesn't always mean the benefit is live yet. What happens next depends on which type of reward your country pays.

North America — the FSD trial activates at delivery, not at order

In the US and Canada the reward is 3 months of free FSD (Supervised). The order summary confirms it's attached to your order, but the trial itself doesn't start counting down until your car is actually delivered. The honest sequence is: order confirmation email → production updates in the Tesla app → delivery day → the FSD trial then appears with its own start and end date under your vehicle in the app. If you check on day two after ordering and see nothing, that's expected — the checkpoint that matters is delivery, not the order email.

UK & Europe — the Supercharging credit is usually visible earlier

Across the UK and most of Europe the reward is Supercharging credit rather than software. It generally shows in the order summary at the point of order and is credited to your account either immediately or shortly after delivery, depending on the market — a shorter gap than the North American FSD trial, because there's no subscription clock to start. Still confirm it in the Tesla app once your car is delivered, not just on the original order PDF.

Australia — the cash-style discount lands in the price you actually pay

Australia's reward has been a cash-style discount (around A$350 on a Model 3) rather than a trial or credit, so there's nothing separate to "activate" after delivery — it's reflected directly in what you were charged. The Model Y reward has been intermittent, so the one thing worth double-checking here is that it was present in the order summary at all, since there's no later activation step to catch a miss.

A dated worked example

Say a US buyer orders a Model Y on July 13, 2026 using a referral link. Their order summary confirms "3 months of FSD (Supervised)" that same day. Production takes several weeks; delivery lands in late August. Nothing about the trial appears in the app before then — that's normal. On delivery day, the FSD trial shows up under their vehicle with its own end date roughly three months out. Checking the app in July and seeing nothing wouldn't have meant the referral failed; it would have meant the checkpoint hadn't arrived yet.

What to do if it genuinely hasn't shown up

Re-check the correct checkpoint for your market first — most "missing benefit" worries are really just checking the wrong one, on the wrong day. If your checkpoint has passed and the reward truly isn't there, contact Tesla support with your order number.
