Tesla's Q2 2026 deliveries, and where the growth actually was

480,126 deliveries, with Europe estimated up around 40%. A directory reading: where referral codes are easy to place, and where they are not.

Tesla's investor release of 2 July 2026 recorded 480,126 deliveries for the second quarter, up roughly 25% year on year, with European volume estimated up around 40%. A delivery release contains no referral data at all, so the atlas reading is about where codes are easy to place rather than about the programme. Dated 2 September 2026.

What the release contains, and does not

Production and delivery counts for a company. No count of referred orders, no credit issuance, no cap utilisation. Every public claim about referral volume is inference, and this desk treats it as such — which is also why "the programme is being wound down" and "the programme is booming" appear each quarter with equal confidence.

Different units of account

Company deliveries are counted per quarter; the referral cap is counted per referrer, per calendar year, at ten successful referrals. Those units never meet. No amount of company volume raises an individual ceiling.

The pairing that settles a common argument

Volume rose in 2026 while the programme narrowed: the terms were revised on 24 February and Model S and Model X were removed in March. Anyone reasoning that strong sales imply a richer incentive has the sign backwards for this year.

Where the growth was, and why a directory cares

Europe up roughly 40% in the quarter means more referred orders are landing in markets where the reward is Supercharging distance — and where that reward doubled to roughly 2,000 km in April 2026. It is the one combination in 2026 where volume and generosity moved the same way.

What volume does change for a referrer

The waiting. A grant follows a settled transaction rather than an order, so the period a referral spends pending tracks delivery timelines. In a high-volume quarter that stretches — and it costs nothing, because every expiry clock starts at the Grant Date.

The distribution problem underneath

If nearly half a million deliveries produce a small fraction of that many referrals, the constraint is not the cap. It is timing: the one moment a referral can attach is before the order is placed, which is precisely when a buyer is least likely to be reading about referral programmes.

What a directory can honestly say about supply

That code supply and buyer demand move independently. Owners accumulate referral capacity whether or not anyone uses it — ten slots per calendar year, resetting on 1 January — while buyers arrive on their own schedule. In a strong quarter the constraint is a referrer's cap; in a weak one it is expiry, because credits that are never earned again run their full twelve months and lapse. Neither of those is visible in a delivery release, which is why this entry stops at recording the number.

The reading for a buyer

Ignore the quarter. Open a referral link before configuring, read the order summary before paying, and take your market's figure from its country page.
