Tesla Referral Round Extended to September 16, 2026
Tesla’s referral round, set to end July 31, now runs through Sept 16, prizes unchanged. What the extension does and doesn’t change for buyers and referrers here.
Tesla's current referral round wasn't supposed to still be running today. It was due to close July 31, 2026 — and instead it's been extended through September 16, 2026. Dated July 13, 2026: what actually moved, what didn't, and what that means if you're deciding whether to order now or wait.
What actually moved: the calendar, not the reward
The referral round's end date pushed from July 31, 2026 to September 16, 2026. Prize availability is reported unchanged from the previous round, and the program is still running on the framework Tesla introduced in March 2026 — the same reward structure (an FSD trial, a Supercharging credit or a cash-style discount, depending on your market) already documented per country on this site. Tesla's Refer and Earn Terms & Conditions were last updated February 24, 2026, before this extension, so the rules underneath the program weren't rewritten either — only the closing date was.
What this means if you're mid-decision
If you were racing a July 31 deadline to lock in the current reward before it, or the program, changed, that pressure is off until at least September 16. The benefit reported today is the same one that was reported before this extension, and it's the one you can still get for roughly seven more weeks. That matters if you're still comparing trims, waiting on financing, or timing a delivery slot — there's more runway than the earlier deadline implied.
What it doesn't change
An extended end date doesn't touch the mechanics. You still have to click a referral link before you configure, the benefit still has to show in your order summary before you pay, and Tesla still can't attach a referral once an order or Reservation Number exists — steps covered in full on our how-it-works page, none of which moved with this extension. Nor is it a promise about what happens after September 16: Tesla has restructured this program before, most recently in March 2026, and an extended round isn't the same thing as a permanent one.
