Claim Local Incentives After Your Referral Link
Clicking your referral link handles exactly one thing: Tesla's own reward. Every local incentive it stacks with is a different system, run by a different body, and most of them don't apply themselves. Here's who actually administers each one and how you claim it, dated July 13, 2026.
The referral link only ever touches the Tesla side
It's worth being precise about this because it trips people up: opening your https://ts.la/… link attaches Tesla's own reward to your session automatically. It does nothing to a federal tax credit, a company-car tax rate, or a state purchase grant — those live entirely outside Tesla's systems, and in most markets nobody applies for them on your behalf.
United States — automatic at the dealer, but confirm before you sign
The federal clean-vehicle credit is unusual in that it's typically taken as an up-front price reduction at the point of sale, so Tesla's own paperwork carries it rather than you filing separately after delivery. That still means you (or Tesla's order team) have to confirm your eligibility — MSRP caps, battery-sourcing rules, your income — before the order is signed, not after. Check current eligibility on the IRS site first.
United Kingdom — your employer's payroll applies it, not you
Benefit-in-Kind tax on an electric company car isn't something you fill in a form for. It's calculated by your employer's payroll against HMRC's published rates, based on the car's list price and CO2 figure. Your role is simply to confirm your Tesla is registered correctly as a company/salary-sacrifice vehicle — the actual tax-rate application happens automatically in your payslip. Current rates are on GOV.UK.
Germany — the same story, through your Lohnsteuer
The reduced 0.25% Dienstwagen rate works the same way as the UK's BiK: it's applied through your employer's payroll tax calculation once your Tesla is registered as a company car, not something you separately petition for. Confirm the current rule before you assume your leasing company has it set up correctly.
France — a genuine application to a state body
The bonus écologique is different in kind from the payroll-based incentives above: it has historically required its own online application to France's payment-services body after your order, separate from Tesla's paperwork, and it depends on the car's environmental score (Berlin-built Model Y qualifies; Shanghai-built Model 3 doesn't). Confirm the current application route and required documents on Service-Public.fr before you order, not after.
Netherlands — two different systems, two different claims
Bijtelling works like the UK/German company-car incentives — applied through payroll once your Tesla is a business vehicle, no separate form. The SEPP private-buyer subsidy is the opposite: it typically needs its own online application to RVO, has a capped annual budget, and can run out before the year ends. Check RVO's current SEPP status before you count on it.
The code is in the toolbar above (tap Copy). This referral link opens Tesla's official store with the benefit attached — always confirm it shows in your order summary before you pay. We may earn Tesla Credits; it costs you nothing.
Spain — a portal application, and a later tax-return claim
Plan Auto+ is administered by the autonomous communities, so you apply through your región's own portal — and because it runs on an annual budget, applying early in the year matters more here than almost anywhere else on this list. The separate IRPF income-tax deduction isn't claimed at the point of sale at all; it's declared on your tax return the following year. See IDAE for current Plan Auto+ terms.
Australia — your employer or lease provider claims it, not you directly
The FBT exemption isn't something a private buyer files for with the ATO. It's applied by whoever structures the car as a fringe benefit — typically your employer or a novated-lease provider — against the ATO's eligibility rules. Your job is to make sure the lease or work-car arrangement is set up to claim it, not to submit anything yourself. See the ATO's exemption criteria.
The one rule that's the same everywhere
None of the above changes what you see when you click your referral link — that part is instant and automatic in every market. The local incentive is always a second, separate claim, sometimes automatic through payroll and sometimes a form you have to actually submit. Knowing which kind yours is, before you order, is the difference between a saving you get and one you assumed you'd get.
